  Petromal is National Holding’s most recently established strategic business unit which focuses on the Oil & Gas and Natural Resource sectors. Petromal is divided into four distinct business units: Upstream (oil and gas producing assets), Downstream (refining and petrochemicals), Petroleum Services (oil field services and engineering & fabrication) and Minerals.
Petromal and the UK’s Premier Oil have formed two JV companies, Premco Energy Projects and Premco BV. Premco Energy Projects was established to identify, obtain, and operate oil and gas opportunities within the United Arab Emirates. Premco BV was created to identify, obtain, and operate oil and gas opportunities within the MENA region and Pakistan. The medium-term objectives of the two Premco JVs are to build businesses with a production capacity of 30,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day with 100 million barrels of oil equivalent in reserves.
Petromal has also partnered with Egyptian Mud Engineering Chemicals (EMEC) to form EMEC E (Emirates), a partnership that marks the company's entry into the oil field services market. EMEC E provides mud-engineering services. The Joint Venture covers the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Iraq, and Yemen.
Petromal also has the responsibility of managing National Holding’s other business interests in the Upstream and Downstream sectors.
Additionally, Petromal is working to establish itself as a regional player in the Downstream and Natural Resources sectors via strategic partnerships with experienced companies with proven track records.
